Google Gemini API
Set up the Gemini API with an AI Studio key as an add-on provider; when to use Vertex AI instead.
Set up
- Create an API key in Google AI Studio.
- Worker UI → AI models → Add → Google Gemini.
- Paste the key; optionally list models, for example
gemini-2.5-flash.
The worker lists models from /v1beta/models with the x-goog-api-key header. Gemini CLI, OpenCode and Aider use
it directly; Claude Code and Codex reach it through the gateway via the Gemini API's OpenAI-compatible endpoint.
Gemini API or Vertex AI?
Use the Gemini API for a key-based setup. Use Vertex AI for Google Cloud projects with service accounts, regions and Google Cloud billing.
