Break a goal into tasks

Create a plan task

New task → Plan, or:

agentctl task create --project prj_123 --title "Plan: multi-currency checkout" --plan \
  --prompt "Support EUR and GBP in checkout, invoices and reports."

Like a review, a plan runs in a worktree of the current commit and must not change files. The agent writes .agent-orchestration/progress/<task>.plan.json; the plan is accepted only if its keys are unique, every dependency is known and there are no cycles. Otherwise the agent is sent back.

Create the tasks

Nothing is created until someone with permission to create tasks clicks Create N tasks on the plan's report — or:

agentctl task apply-plan <plan-task-id>

The tasks are created in dependency order, with the plan's summary as their background, and wait for their dependencies as usual. Applying again returns the same tasks.

To require an approval before plans run at all, set requireApprovalFor.plan in the policy.
