Linear
Turn Linear issues with a label, and comments starting with a command, into tasks — webhook setup with Linear's own signing secret, and replies as comments.
Create a Linear integration in Settings → Integrations and copy its webhook URL; see the overview for how integrations work.
Webhook
In Linear: Settings → API → Webhooks → New webhook, with the integration's URL and the data change events Issues and Comments.
Linear chooses the signing secret and shows it. Paste it into the integration's setup card (Signing secret from
Linear), or send it with PUT /orgs/:orgId/integrations/:id/secret. Deliveries are refused until you do, and
must carry a valid Linear-Signature.
Behaviour
- Issues become tasks when they are created with the configured label, or when the label is added later.
- Comments starting with the command (default
/agent) create a task from the rest of the comment. Comments by integrations are ignored. - One issue is one task: redeliveries return the existing task.
Replies (optional)
Set Token secret for replies to the name of an organization secret holding a Linear API key. The issue then gets a comment with the task link when the task is created, and another when it completes, fails or needs attention.
Verification status
Tested against a local fake of Linear's webhooks and API, not yet a real Linear workspace.
